If you have an Android OS version previous to 2.2.1, follow these steps to update your phone’s OS over-the-air:
1. Press the “Menu” button on your Android phone and tap “Settings” to open the “Settings” menu.
2. Scroll down to the very last option, “About phone,” and tap on it.
3. Tap on “System updates.” If an update to the Android operating system is available, the phone will automatically download and install it. If there are no updates available, the screen will say “Your system is currently up to date.”

Your procedure will only works with android native phones (Nexus, Nexus S, some Htc’s) Many phones that get carrier-branded OS updates can not do OTA updates and thus the option under the “about phone” menu may be completely missing. Cheers!

Hmm, this seems like it would be a very cool app. Does it transfer the same video and sound quality to your phone, or is it kind of sketchy? How far away can you be from the camera to get reception?

The live preview is at a lower frame rate and used to line up your shot before you start recording. There is no audio. We’ve tested the ContourGPS and Contour+ to over 30’ with a support device. Though there isn’t much use for being so far away from the camera while it’s in standby if you’re planning to record.

We haven’t tried it on this exact make and model of smartphone, but as long as you’re running Android OS 2.2.1 or later, you’ll be able to download the Contour Connect mobile app on the Android Market.
