GoPro HD Doohickey (vibration reduction mount attachment)
Ever wonder what the orange rubber piece included with your GoPro HD HERO camera pack is for?
Well, with a little research and testing, we’ve put together the following video to show you just how this mount attachment is used with the GoPro Buckle Mount to help dampen vibration while cruising the rugged trails.

Great advice! I just used my GoPro for the first time today and the clicking was driving me crazy! Thank you for identifying the mystery component in my mount grab bag!

what do you do about the same noise while using the handle bar mount?
Thanks for solving my other problem.

@dave
If you’re getting excessive vibration noises using the Ride HERO, you may want to add some dense foam or a rubber strip to provide padding between the clamp and your bike’s handlebar. Make sure all of the thumbscrews are fully tightened, using a philips screw driver if necessary. There isn’t going to be as much shock absorption as mounting the camera to your helmet, so vibration and noise from bouncing parts can be more evident when mounted directly on the bike.
