Motorcycle Racing

Motorcycle racing is not for everyone. Not only does it require a great amount of skill, but it can be truly dangerous to the inexperienced. However, for those who do chase the high speed of the racing field, a helmet cam can serve more than pure entertainment purposes.
Obviously, one benefit of recording a race is to show observers the perspective of actually riding the motorcycle. Most of us will never see that perspective, and the camera affords the rider the ability to share the experience in a realistic manner without any risk to the watcher. Another benefit is to the rider themselves, as they are able to go back and review their ride and look for possible errors in technique, risks to avoid in future races, and even patterns exhibited by other riders. The footage obtained by a helmet cam can actually be used to aid the rider in perfecting strategies for future races and avoiding possibly injurious situations on the track.
Helmet cams used to be only for the rare few who might be sponsored by a television station or other high-tech venue, but they are now available to average consumers and are becoming widely used by racing enthusiasts. Motorcyclists have much to gain by recording their adventures in this way, and those of us on the sidelines will have the opportunity to share the experience in a way that we otherwise never could.
