Twice The Performance In the Same Case
GoPro kept the best elements of the best selling GoPro HD and reengineered the rest to get twice the performance in the HD HERO2 while retaining backward compatibility with their existing cases and accessories. The HD HERO 2 has more than twice the resolution of previous HEROs with a new 11mp sensor, video and photo processing has been doubled to match the increased resolution. Matching that is a new sharper lens for increased low light performance. HDMI and mic ports enhance to it’s pro status making it even more versatile.
GoPro Gives You Wide
Action cameras need a wide field of view to bring everything into the scene. The GoPro offers you multiple fields of view depending on your requirements. At 1080p and 720p you get a full 170° or narrower 90° shooting angle. Select the optimal field of view for your activity: 170° to capture the widest point of view, making sure you get everything in the shot; 127° for shots that are still wide, but not so wide that you get a fisheye effect; and 90° for those close in shots where you don't need a huge field of view.
Choose Your Frame Rate
Do you want the highest resolution or butter smooth slow motion? Pick the resolution and frame rate to suit your needs. You can have up to 120 fps at WVGA. For higher resolutions try 60 fps at 720p, 48 fps at 960p or 30fps in 1080p HD. Shoot 11mp time lapse photos at a frame every 0.5 seconds.
Faster Frame Rates Than a DSLR
Even most top of the line DSL’s that cost thousands of dollars cannot shoot faster than this camera. The new still photo improvements make the HD HERO2 one of the most advanced and fastest sports cameras around. A jaw dropping 10 frames per second means you will never miss that perfect once in a lifetime shot. You can even choose your FOV of either 170° or a less wide 127°.
Much Improved, Easier to Understand Interface
The older HEROs used hard to interpret function codes on the LCD, the HERO2 uses easy to grasp English based UI that makes it easy to read your settings without refering to the manual. Previous users and newcomers alike will appreciate this advancement.
New HDMI and Microphone Inputs Included
Watch your GoPro HERO2 footage straight from the camera to high res screen with the HDMI out port. The external 3.5mm microphone input means you can attach any third party mic and get superior audio for your action videos.
New Wifi BacPac and Remote Offers Ultimate Control Flexibility
Coming in winter 2011 is the GoPro Wi Fi BacPac that attaches to the back of the HERO2. The Wifi BacPac will allow you to use your smartphone, tablet or computer to adjust camera settings, preview and review video and photos wirelessly using wifi! Live stream video from the GoPro too. The Wi Fi Remote allows remote video control of up to 50 GoPro cameras for the ultimate camera array.
