Product Description
This filter was designed for use with the new GoPro HERO3 cameras (White, Silver, and Black Editions). This red filter was designed to color correct underwater videos while filming with the GoPro HERO3. This is the easiest way to capture vibrant underwater colors. Without a Red filter the GoPro often captures video that looks too green or too blue. A red filter helps to bring back all the colors as light drops off as you descend under water.
You spent thousands of dollars on that tropical dive vacation, might as well show your friends how bright that coral really was!
When to Use
You will want to use your red filter when filming at depths of 10 to 65 feet. Above 10 feet of water there is still plenty of red light so you will not need a filter. Below 65 feet it is recommended to use a light source as there is very little natural light at those depths.
Installation
Installation of the polarizer filter is very simple with the Hero 3 cameras. You Simply remove the 8 star screws with the screwdriver provided. Lift up the black rectangle Bezel and Glass lens. Insert the filter in the middle of the rectangle rubber seal (be sure to wear gloves so you do not get finger oil on the filter). Place the Glass lens and black bezel back onto the housing. Tighten the 8 screws down in a star pattern. Be sure not to over tighten the screws!
